Waystone appoints Angela Leyesa as US Head of Compliance Solutions

Waystone, a leading provider of specialist services to the global asset management industry, today announces the appointment of Angela Leyesa as US Head of Compliance Solutions.

Since joining Waystone in 2019 as Managing Director, Angela has played a pivotal role in strengthening client relationships and operational excellence across the firm’s compliance business. In her new role, she will lead Waystone’s North America Compliance Solutions business, guiding clients through the ever-shifting regulatory landscape.

With over 20 years of experience across broker-dealer, investment adviser and exchange environments, Angela brings deep and practical expertise in trading surveillance, regulatory reporting, compliance programme development and regulatory examinations.

Following several years of strong growth, Waystone’s Compliance Solutions team now includes over 100 professionals across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The team supports a diverse client base – including hedge funds, private equity and venture capital firms, broker dealers, banks and start-ups – in managing regulatory risk across their operations.

Mase Kazemi, Country Head, North America at Waystone said: “Over the past 18 months, Waystone has significantly strengthened its North America team with a number of strategic hires, and Angela’s appointment marks an important milestone in our growth journey at Waystone. Angela’s leadership, coupled with the expertise and dedication of our existing team, mean we now have a strong foundation to take our operations to the next level.”

Angela Leyesa, US Head of Compliance at Waystone, said: “I’m delighted to step into this role at such a pivotal time for Waystone and our clients. As the regulatory landscape continues to evolve, firms need practical, forward-looking solutions grounded in deep expertise. I’m excited to continue building on our strong foundation and expanding the reach and impact of our compliance offering across the US.”
