Michaela Roden is a financial services professional with over 15 years of experience in the European funds industry, having worked in a number of roles covering multiple product types and asset classes in various jurisdictions. Michaela has expertise in the structuring, management and distribution of fund products through to the investment, risk and servicing of the underlying financial instruments. Michaela’s experience covers new fund launches, client on-boarding and transitions, compliance and risk, client due diligence and governance frameworks.
At Waystone, Michaela is responsible for new business implementation, including fund and client on-boarding. Michaela works closely with both internal and external stakeholders and across multiple regulatory environments including UCITS and AIFMD.
Prior to joining Waystone, Michaela held the role of Senior Program Manager at HSBC Continental Europe, Luxembourg. Previously, Michaela was Head of Client Onboarding at Pantheon Ventures (UK) LP where she was responsible for the implementation of dedicated end-to-end client onboarding and change management, supporting the full range of private equity structures offered by the firm. Michaela created and implemented new processes and governance structures to improve client take on, including standard project plans, processes to manage new requirements, definition of control frameworks, risk mitigation and reporting requirements. Michaela was also responsible for project planning and implementation for all new global client onboarding.
Michaela holds a Master’s Law degree from Karl-Franzens-Universität, Graz. In addition, she holds a Certificate in Mutual Funds from the Institute of Bankers in Ireland and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Services Law from University College Dublin.
