      Jason Poonoosamy is Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Waystone. Jason has extensive and diverse industry experience and has played a pivotal role in the growth of Waystone by overseeing the integration of acquired businesses.

      Based in Dublin, Jason’s key focus is on driving, shaping and formalising global strategy, by assessing alternatives relating to potential acquisitions, partnerships, or build-out. Jason identifies market opportunities to contribute towards the development of new business lines and products and works with senior management to develop the subsequent operating and support models.

      Jason has an in-depth knowledge of European investment regulations such as MiFID II, UCITS and AIFMD and has led the divisions that specialise in the practical application of these regimes. Jason is a board member of a number of Irish and Luxembourg funds, and holds several PCFs in investment management. Since joining Waystone, Jason has led the successful build-out of the Group’s operations in the areas of back, middle and front offices, as well the Waystone proprietary investment risk system, one of the Company’s core differentiators.

      Prior to joining Waystone, Jason served as Head of Product Management within the Global Risk & Analytics division at State Street, Dublin, where, from 2009 to 2013, he was responsible for strategically increasing revenue, growing market share, and penetrating new markets. In this capacity, he also led and managed new product offerings targeted at hedge funds, pension funds, asset managers, insurance companies, and other institutional investors. From 2006 to 2009, Jason served the same company as Head of Client Services and Operations where he oversaw the provision of risk and investment analytics for a range of institutional investors, including; hedge funds, pension funds, endowments, and insurance companies.

      Previously, Jason worked as an Investment Analyst in the National Pensions Reserve Fund, National Treasury Management Agency (Dublin) from 2002 to 2005. Earlier in his career, Jason served as Investment Support Analyst with State Street Global Advisors, Sydney, Australia and as a Portfolio Accountant with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

      Jason achieved his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification in 2004 and holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. In addition, Jason holds a Higher Diploma in Science and Computing and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of New South Wales, Australia.
