Gorka Fernandez

With a professional background that spans nearly two decades, Gorka brings his expertise as a qualified auditor and his substantial experience in audit and accounting to his role at Waystone.

Based in Luxembourg, Gorka is responsible for overseeing private equity real estate fund accounting, ensuring compliance with international and local accounting standards, managing integral financial projects, coordinating cross-network collaborations, and guiding his team to deliver optimal accounting solutions to clients.

Prior to his current position at Waystone, Gorka was PERE Fund Accounting Manager at Centaur Fund Services until its acquisition by Waystone in 2023. Previously, Gorka held key managerial roles such as Real Estate Manager and Team Manager with Gen II Luxembourg Services S.a.r.l. At Intertrust Group, Gorka’s contributions were essential in planning and executing integral management projects that ranged from personnel coordination and economic planning to client management and cross-network collaboration with international Intertrust offices. A notable chapter of his career includes his period at KPMG España, where he managed auditing responsibilities for a diverse range of companies under both Spanish and international GAAPs.

Gorka holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration, with a specialisation in Accounting and Audit, from the Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea. Gorka completed a postgraduate program in Financial Audit from the same institution.

Professionally, Gorka is a certified auditor under the registration ROAC nº 22391 and has been recognised by the ICAC- Instituto de Contabilidad y Auditoria de Cuentas since March 2010.
