At Waystone, Emma manages a team that ensures internal company procedures and controls are in place, in order to deliver a high-quality product. Emma works closely with other departments including Risk, Compliance and Legal in order to meet her key objectives. Emma ensures that client audits are completed, and annual financial statements are delivered in line with the required deadlines. Emma also assists with the preparation and filing of regulatory reporting in accordance with the relevant authorities.
Emma was previously approved by the Central Bank of Ireland as the Head of Finance (PCF-11) and the Head of Client Asset Oversight (PCF-45) for AFEX Markets Europe Ltd and Blackbee Investments Ltd, both firms were regulated under Markets in Financial Instruments Directive. Within these roles, Emma prepared timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements across all Group entities, prepared regulatory returns such as FINREP, Monthly Metrics, MCAR etc., updated policies for new legislation such as ICAAP, CAMP etc. and worked closely with Management in the development of budgets, forecasts, projections and business models. Prior to this, Emma held senior roles in Financial Control and spent two years with HSBC in Canada as Manager, Financial Crime Risk (FCR).
Emma is a Fellow of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and previously qualified as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). In addition, Emma holds a BA in Accountancy from Waterford Institute of Technology.
