Lynden John is a Managing Director at Waystone, based in the Cayman Islands, where he leads Product Development and Cayman Platform Solutions. He works closely with asset managers, institutional investors and sponsors to structure and implement commercially effective alternative investment platforms and to develop scalable, end-to-end operating solutions aligned with evolving regulatory requirements.
Lynden is a subject matter expert in offshore governance, regulatory and tax frameworks, and is known for bridging governance, regulatory and commercial execution, translating complex requirements into practical, operational solutions. In addition to his executive role, Lynden serves in a personal capacity as an independent director, investment and advisory committee member, and Independent Fund Representative across Cayman, BVI and Delaware structures, including investment funds, asset managers and special purpose vehicles. He brings a strong commercial and technical lens to board oversight and sits across global fund structures spanning multiple asset classes, acting for asset managers, sovereign wealth funds and family offices.
Lynden began his career with Deloitte South Africa, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and progressed to Audit Manager. He is an alumnus of both Deloitte and Ernst & Young in the Cayman Islands, where he worked across alternative investments, insurance and restructuring. Since 2012, he has held senior leadership roles within leading fiduciary and corporate services firms, overseeing governance across large portfolios of offshore structures and developing new product and service offerings.
Lynden is a licenced Chartered Accountant and holds Honours and Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, Financial Management, Auditing and Tax. He is a member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association (CIDA), the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA) and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
