      Niaz Khan is CEO, Asia-Pacific and the Cayman Islands at Waystone and is based in the Cayman Islands where he manages global teams across operations, products lines and client service for both the Asia-Pacific and the Cayman Islands jurisdictions.

      In 2010, Niaz was instrumental in leading the launch of the Waystone Hong Kong operation, where he developed and grew the client base significantly across the Asia-Pacific region, expanding into Greater China and also into Singapore where Waystone launched an operation in 2017. Having successfully managed the expansion of the Waystone operations in Asia-Pacific, Niaz brings his extensive experience to his current role where he oversees the Waystone growth strategy for both the Asia-Pacific and Cayman Islands regions.

      An experienced professional in the investment management industry, Niaz has lived and worked in three major financial centres; New York, the Cayman Islands and Hong Kong, gaining considerable expertise, experience and best practices in fund governance, fund start-ups, regulatory and compliance work.

      Niaz joined Waystone as an Associate Director in 2008 and worked for three years in its Cayman Islands headquarters, where he managed fund governance for a portfolio of hedge fund clients, focusing on diverse client needs and providing support through his outstanding technical knowledge.

      Prior to joining Waystone, Niaz was an Associate in the finance division of Goldman Sachs & Co in New York, where he oversaw the management of approximately 140 investment funds with more than US$22Bn of assets domiciled in the Cayman Islands, the US, Ireland and Guernsey.

      Niaz began his career with Ernst & Young in its New York head office, working in the Assurance Asset Management division. He later transferred to the Cayman Islands office, where he served in a similar role.

      Niaz holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Baruch College of The City University of New York. While studying at university, he interned with International Tax Divisions of Salomon Smith Barney and at Deloitte.

      A member of the Hong Kong Securities and Investments Institute and the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, Niaz is a regular speaker and contributor on topics relating to fund governance and offshore financial services at forums globally.
