Yiqi (Kelly) Chai, CAIA, CPA (US)

Kelly is an Independent Director based in Waystone’s Singapore office, where she provides institutional-grade governance and board-level oversight to alternative investment funds, including private equity, hedge and hybrid funds. She is an Accredited Director, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and member of the Certified Public Accountants of the United States, with over 20 years of experience across offshore financial services, asset management, fund administration, banking and audit. Kelly’s stakeholder experience enables her to oversee key service providers, financial reporting, regulatory compliance and day-to-day fund operations.

Prior to joining Waystone, Kelly was Vice President at Citco Fund Services, where she established and led the North Asia market coverage team while overseeing a portfolio of Cayman-domiciled funds and Singapore-based Variable Capital Companies (VCCs). She previously held leadership roles at JPMorgan and State Street, where she oversaw fund operations and provided services to alternative investment vehicles. Kelly also worked at a leading wealth management firm based in Hong Kong, contributing to the successful launch of a fund of funds product. Earlier in her career, she was an auditor at Deloitte, focusing on large and complex international financial institutions.

Kelly holds an Executive Master of Finance from INSEAD in France and a Master of Accountancy from Brock University in Canada. She is a member of the INSEAD Directors Network (IDN), a Registered Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) and an Accredited Director of the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID). Kelly is a native Mandarin speaker and is fluent in English and Cantonese.
