Winnie Hon serves as an Independent Director at Waystone and is based in Hong Kong. Winnie oversees fund governance and all regulatory and compliance requirements for Asia-based open-ended and closed-ended funds across a wide variety of structures and strategies.
Winnie has over 20 years of financial services experience in the alternative investment industry, gained through her previous roles working in jurisdictions that included, Hong Kong, Singapore and North America.
Prior to joining Waystone, Winnie spent over 16 years with Citco Fund Services, where, as Vice President, she was responsible for a portfolio of hedge fund and private equity clients. Earlier in her career, Winnie held senior roles at State Street where she worked in Fund Accounting and also Custodian Services with a focus on mutual funds.
Winnie is a Registered Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. Winnie is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

- Serving as Independent Director to hedge funds structure employing Long/Short equity strategy focused in technology, internet and consumer sectors in Asia and Global stock exchanges with combined AUM of over $4Bn.
- Serving as General Partner to private funds investing in healthcare and technology related companies in Greater China area.
- Serving on public/private crossover funds investing in long term investments in companies across the global technology, media, and telecommunications sectors managed by a top investment firm with combined AUM of over $12Bn.
- Serving on private equity funds managed by one of the most established independent private equity firms in Asia which focused on sectors in consumer, media & technology, healthcare, industrials and financial services with combined AUM of over $4.5Bn.
- Serving on funds with various strategies including long/short equity, fixed income, event driven, fund of funds, real estate, global macro and multi-strategy.
- Working on number of fund structures including Segregated Portfolio Companies (SPCs), Stand Alone, Master Feeder, GP/LP and Limited Liability Companies.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in net asset valuation calculations and reporting for hedge funds. Extensive experience in management and incentive fee calculations.
- Experienced in registrar and transfer agency services. Familiar with many different capital and fund structures and working experience in anti-money laundering and compliance procedures.
