      Vumi Dube is an Executive Director in the Cayman Islands office. Vumi’s practice includes serving on the boards of a broad range of open-ended and closed-ended funds across various investment strategies with managers based in developed and emerging markets.

      A Chartered Accountant and CFA Charterholder, Vumi has extensive experience in providing governance, regulatory, compliance, auditing and accounting services to investment companies. His expertise includes overseeing and providing guidance for a variety of situations, including new fund launches and distressed situations. In addition to leading board meetings, Vumi reviews key fund documentation, agreements and side letters, manages the performance of key service providers, and oversees financial reporting, including the fair valuation of illiquid or hard-to-value investments.

      Prior to joining Waystone, Vumi held senior roles at Citco Fund Services, based in the Cayman Islands and previously at Deloitte where he gained significant experience in Cayman Islands’ regulatory matters.

      • Representing funds of two real estate groups managed by boutique Asia-based investment management firms biased towards an active, relationship-driven and hands-on participation in regional property developments with combined AUM of over $5Bn.
      • Representing stand alone and master-feeder hedge funds with investment managers based in Africa, Asia, Europe and North and South America, employing long/short, event driven, macro and relative value strategies invested in various asset classes including equities, convertible bonds, credit instruments and listed securities.
      • Representing fund of fund structures including a fund investing in a diversified North American focused portfolio of funds sponsored by a Canadian asset manager with over $600M in AUM.
      • Representing segregated portfolio companies with investment managers based primarily in Asia.
      • Serving on advisory boards or investment committees to investment funds in connection with specific mandates such as affiliated transactions and other conflict matters.
