Stella is an Associate Director at Waystone with over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. Based in the Cayman Islands office, Stella provides independent director services to investment management companies registered with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA). Stella is also responsible for implementing strategies to deliver economic substance solutions in accordance with the Economic Substance Act.
Stella oversees the various Core Income Generating Activities for relevant entities within the Cayman Islands for her portfolio of Securities Investment Business Act registered entities. This includes attending the meetings of the board of directors, undertaking portfolio risks management of investment funds managed by the relevant entities, calculating risks and reserves, and preparing the annual Economic Substance Returns for filing with the Department for International Tax Cooperation.
Prior to joining Waystone, Stella was an Audit Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Cayman Islands within the fund referred reporting group where she was responsible for the audit of funds registered with CIMA. She has a thorough knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP as well as the regulatory and reporting requirements for mutual and private funds domiciled in the Cayman Islands.
Stella is a Chartered Accountant of Singapore and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She is a member of the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA), the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) and the 100 Women in Finance.
