      Kate Maynard is General Counsel: Cayman & Americas for Waystone and has responsibility for managing legal activity, strategy and policy across all sectors in the Cayman Islands and the Americas. Kate is a practicing Cayman Islands attorney and notary public and leads a team of dedicated legal specialists, advising on matters legal and corporate.

      Kate brings to the role significant multi-jurisdictional legal experience, including extensive experience in developing and managing the legal function of a global organisation and driving acquisitions. Kate began her career in the United Kingdom in 2003 at international law firm Pinsent Masons LLP. As a lawyer in the Competition Law department, she advised public and private sector clients on major procurements, mergers and acquisitions and regulatory investigations. Prior to joining Waystone in 2012, Kate was employed as a commercial litigator in the Cayman Islands, during which time she was described by the Legal 500 survey as an “energetic, ambitious and super bright individual”.

      Before converting to law with distinction, Kate received a first-class Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree in Film and Literature from the University of Warwick. She holds a Master’s degree in Competition Law from Kings College, London.
