Ivana Faltysova
Managing Director
Ivana Faltysova is a senior fiduciary professional at Waystone Governance Ltd. She serves as an independent director on a broad range of sophisticated private investment funds with varying structures and strategies.
Ivana’s legal background and prior experience in investment management operations together with professional fiduciary experience of more than twelve years offer an excellent complimentary skill set to a well-balanced governing board.
Prior to joining Waystone in 2011, Ivana worked as in-house counsel at Horizon21, a Swiss-based investment manager. During her tenure she looked after legal matters of hedge funds, fund of funds and private equity funds with total AUM of US$10 billion. She is experienced in fund set up and structuring, complex transactional documentation, investment legal due diligence, side letters negotiations as well as regulatory matters and overall fund governance policies. Ivana relocated to Cayman Islands in 2009 to head the Cayman Islands operations and served as a director on boards of over 30 investment vehicles managed by the same company.
In addition, Ivana held a position of Trust Officer at Royal Trust Corporation of Canada, where she was responsible for discretionary management and administration of a book of estates and trusts.
Ivana is a Registered Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, serves on the Peer Engagement Committee of 100 Women in Finance and is a member of the Cayman Islands Director Association. Ivana holds Master of Laws degree from Comenius University, Slovakia and qualified as an Accredited Director of the Chartered Secretaries of Canada.

- Serving as a director and advisory committee member for a fund structure with approximately AUM of US$7bn investing in distressed debt, value and event driven equities and special situations managed by a one of the fastest growing US domiciled asset managers.
- Serving on boards of number of fund structures with long/short equity strategy focused on various sectors, predominantly technology, financial services and energy as well as various geographies, predominantly US or emerging markets.
- Serving on boards of several fund structures pursuing public and private equity strategies in APAC region.
- Serving on boards of several global macro funds.
- Serving as a director on board of several managed futures and systematic trading funds, advised by large CTAs with AUM in a range of approximately $1-4 billion.
- Serving as a director for a group of funds with relative value and event driven strategies focused on debt and equities instruments, sponsored by global asset manager with AUM of $17 billion.
- Serving as a director and advisory committee member for a large group of funds investing in a diversified portfolio of US and European public and private distressed debt and equity across a variety of industries, sponsored by a pioneering distressed debt asset management firm with assets under management of approximately $11 billion.
- Serving as a director on several fund-of-funds investing in long/short equity, event-driven strategies, and various arbitrage strategies.
- Serving as a director of several VC funds.
- Serving as a director for several direct lending and loan participating funds focused on both, developed and emerging markets.
- Serving as a director for a large group of funds specializing on ILS space as well as niche privately negotiated reinsurance transactions.
