Darragh Murphy serves as an Independent Director at Waystone where he oversees fund governance for a portfolio of hedge fund and private equity vehicles with a diverse range of structures and investment strategies.

      Darragh joined Waystone in 2017 and has significant financial services experience, with a focus on fund compliance, regulation and structuring. Prior to joining Waystone, Darragh spent four years with PwC as Tax Senior, where he supported clients in the areas of domestic and international taxation, working on a number of consultancy projects with technical tax issues.

      Darragh is responsible for implementing strategies to deliver an economic substance solution in accordance with appropriate local regulations while overseeing the risk reporting element of economic substance solutions in the Cayman Islands.

      • Serving master-feeder fund structure employing long/short equity, event-driven, long/short commodities, and sponsored by investment manager with assets under management of $4 Bn.
      • Serving closed-ended private investment fund structures focusing on the commercial real estate sector in the US with an excess of $1 Bn assets under management.
      • Oversight and guidance for fund launches; reviewing fund constitutional documents, agreements and side letters and overseeing performance of key service providers. Ensuring regulatory compliance with global regulatory bodies and fund regulations including the US (SEC), Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA), UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Securities & Futures Commission Hong Kong (SFC).
