Andrew Smith

Andrew is the Chief Technology and Information Security Officer (CTISO) at Waystone. In this role, he leads Waystone’s global technology and information security strategy, driving innovation and ensuring a robust, scalable technology infrastructure that supports Waystone’s continued growth. With a keen focus on digital transformation, Andrew plays a critical role in shaping the future of the company’s fintech solutions.

Bringing over 30 years of extensive experience in technology, where more than two thirds has been in leadership roles within financial services, Andrew is a seasoned expert in fintech, financial product development, and large-scale organisational transformation.

Before joining Waystone, Andrew served as Chief Digital Officer at Nucleus Financial Group, where he also previously held the position of Chief Technology Officer. During his tenure, he spearheaded the company’s digital transformation, developed advanced fintech solutions, and defined long-term technology strategies to drive business success.

Andrew has successfully managed global platforms, led investment management and equity trading system operations, and driven strategic change initiatives. His strong track record includes scaling operations from start-ups to large enterprises, integrating financial software systems, and delivering mission-critical business solutions. His expertise and leadership are instrumental in strengthening Waystone’s position as a leader in innovative financial technology.

Andrew holds a BSc in Computing Science and a Masters in Cognitive Science from the University of Birmingham.
