Alain Bastin is the Chief Executive Officer of Waystone Fund Management (Lux) S.A. One of the founders of BIL Manage Invest S.A. (BMI), Alain has more than 30 years of experience in senior executive roles across the banking and fund management industries, with particular expertise in risk management and audit.
Alain joined the BIL Group in 2001 as Head of Market & Operational Risk Management, a position he held until 2013. Prior to this, he led the Risk Management and Audit Department at ING from 1993 to 2001.
He plays an active role in Luxembourg’s regulatory landscape as a member of the GFI Committee of the CSSF. Alain is also a founding member of ALRIM, where he served as Chairman from 2000 to 2005 and as a Board Member for over 20 years.
In addition, Alain serves as a Board Member of several internal and external alternative investment structures.
